Workshops & Lectures
Teaching allows me to share my enthusiasm for working with textiles and I always find it exciting to see the results of workshop participants.

Workshops
Over twenty five years ago I was asked to teach patchwork and quilting techniques to a group of enthusiastic friends. Sharing what knowledge I had, I found I enjoyed the process. Workshops in textile processes were rare, and on completion of Visual Art (Textiles) study, majoring in Surface Design, I began teaching, using my recently acquired knowledge. This was the beginning of a work pattern, which combined my textile practice with teaching – allowing me to share my passion for working with textiles.
My workshops cater for those who are wanting to push the boundaries of their knowledge, by combining a variety of materials and techniques.
Processes include:
- hand & machine stitching
- dyeing & printing
- manipulation & embellishment
- collage using textiles, paper and mixed media.
I’m currently spending time in my studio, and have limited my workshop programme for 2013. Please contact me for information on how I can tailor a small group workshop for your art group or education program.
Artist’s Talks & Lectures
I delight in sharing my experiences, whether it be discussing my studio processes, showing a favourite item from my textile collection or telling stories about some of the wonderful exotic places I have visited….

I am available for artist’s talks & lectures to art groups, organisations, galleries, high school and tertiary students and other art affiliated bodies.
Topics include:
- my career in textiles
- studio practice
- travels with a textile influence
- textile treasures (my collection)
